This product is a Thatcham approved Category 2 (aka Cat 2, for insurance companies) immobiliser, fitted to your MX5 by one of our professionally trained engineers. Comes complete with installation certificate, spare key fob (shown below - master keyfob is RED), lifetime warranty and instructions.

The immobiliser is an Apollo 780 transponder type model - meaning that there are no contacts to touch, buttons or codes to enter to mobilise the car. It works via a plastic keyfob attached to your keyring which transmits a special code to an aerial located behind the ignition lock of the car (or anywhere else you would like us to install it). Therefore if the keyfob is not within range of the aerial (eg over 15cms away), the car is immobilised.

This immobiliser takes approximately 2 hours to install. Installation is available any day in the week (but you must phone beforehand to book an appointment time) and on Saturdays (also subject to appointment). We have chosen Apollo for our immobilisers as we have found them to be VERY reliable (we have never had a single fault with any) and convenient to use. There are no moving parts in any part of the immobiliser. This unit must be fitted by a qualified engineer to be an insurance approved device, so they are NOT available to fit yourself.
