Have your cam belt professionally replaced by our experienced mechanics
and your ignition timing digitally checked. If you have no record or knowledge of your cambelt having been changed and have done over 90,000 km (55,000 miles) then it would be advisable to have it changed regardless. If you have a MK2.5 with VVT engine (2001 onwards) then please check the other cambelt item.
To check whether your cambelt needs changing takes about the same time as having the belt changed, so having the cam belt replaced regardless of whether it needs one is our recommendation.
Price shown INCLUDES the price of the
cam belt. Please note: we are seeing more and more older Mk1 cars with noisy and grinding tensioners and idlers as well as cracked and leaking rocker cover gaskets. You should also check when the water pump was last replaced (produce an intermittent or sometimes constant dull knocking noise from the front of the engine). These parts do not always need to be replaced on every cambelt change but in any case we will always call to advise.
